Meet your Midwife Consultant : Dr Elizabeth Rigg

Hello and welcome to my website. I am excited to share with you a little about myself and look forward to working you and your baby.

I am a registered midwife with over 40 years of experience in the childbirth, parenting and health professionals education. I bring a unique combination of professional expertise, academic knowledge, and lived experience to Educated Birth Solutions.

My journey began as a registered nurse and midwife, roles that gave me a deep understanding of the transformative journey of childbirth. Over the years, I have honed my skills as a registered midwife, teacher, academic, and researcher with a PhD, while also serving as a director of midwifery programs.

I’ve worked in private and public hospitals and community settings, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the diverse challenges faced by parents and educators. As a frequent conference speaker and presenter, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my insights and experiences on national and international stages and have published in several professional journals including the author of a book chapter “Birthing outside the System- the Canary in the Colemine”. As the President of CAPEA, I’m proud to advocate for the importance of evidence-based childbirth education and support the professional growth of educators.

Educated Birth Solutions

Educated Birth Solutions was born from my passion for creating accessible, engaging, and empowering learning experiences for parents and parents-to-be. With over 20 years’ experience supporting families and as President of Childbirth and Parenting Educators Australia (CAPEA), I bring a wealth of knowledge and warmth to every baby massage class.

I understand the challenges new and expecting parents face when learning to bond, soothe, and care for their baby. Through nurturing, evidence-based baby massage programs, I help you build practical skills, deepen your connection with your baby, and feel more calm and confident as a parent.

My approach is gentle, practical, and designed to support both you and your baby every step of the way. Educated Birth Solutions is here to help you navigate this transformative time with knowledge, warmth, and encouragement
