Baby Massage Frequently Asked Questions
Baby Massage FAQ
What is baby massage, and why should I try it?
Baby massage is a simple, gentle way to connect with your little one. It can help them relax, support better sleep, ease colic or wind, and give you a calm and confident way to nurture your baby.
When can I start baby massage?
You can start from the very early weeks. Classes are most suitable for babies from newborn until they begin crawling. However, all babies and children can enjoy and benefit from experiencing the nurturing and bonding effects of massage up to school age and beyond.
What if my baby cries or needs a feed during class?
That’s absolutely okay. Babies do what babies need to do. You’re welcome to feed, cuddle, or comfort your little one anytime. You can watch and join back in whenever your baby is ready.
Do I need to bring anything?
Just a small blanket or towel for your baby to lie on, along with your usual nappy bag essentials. Massage oil will be available to purchase directly from me, or you can bring your own if you prefer.
What massage oil is safe to use on my baby?
Evidence suggests that natural, plant-based cold-pressed oils are the safest choice for baby massage, as they are gentle and nourishing for your baby’s skin. You can purchase baby massage oil directly from me when you book your class, or you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer. To keep your little one safe, please do a small patch test on your baby’s skin (such as on their leg or arm) at least 24 hours before the first class to check for any reaction.
Can both parents or a support person come along?
Yes, absolutely. It’s a lovely experience to share, and many families enjoy learning together.
How many families are in each class?
Classes are kept small and relaxed — usually 6–8 families — so you’ll have plenty of time, space, and support.
What if my baby is sick and I can’t attend?
If your baby is unwell, the most important thing is to stay home and look after them. Please just contact me to let me know, and I’ll work with you to organise a make-up class. It is your responsibility to arrange this directly with me.
Can I get a refund?
I don’t offer refunds for missed classes. I understand life with a baby can be unpredictable, so instead I offer the option to organise a make-up class. This way, you won’t miss out on the experience, and your booking remains fully valued.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes — gift vouchers are available and make a beautiful, thoughtful present for new parents. They can be used for classes or private sessions.
✨ Baby massage is a beautiful way to bond, connect, and enjoy time together. I’d love to welcome you to a class soon, or you might like to share the gift of baby massage with someone special.
